What Is Neuromodulation?
Metro Spine Pain Centers may have the right solution for your chronic pain. Neuromodulation offers a modern, effective approach to managing pain. This technique uses the advanced technology of neurostimulation devices or neuromodulators to alter how nerves communicate pain signals. These devices deliver electrical impulses to targeted nerves, disrupting pain signals before they reach the brain and providing relief. Common methods include spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation. These treatments are often used for conditions, like chronic back pain, nerve-related pain, or pain following surgery. If you want to explore advanced pain relief options, schedule a consultation with our team in Oxon Hill, Clinton, or Takoma Park, MD to learn more about personalized neuromodulation treatments.
How Does Neuromodulation Work?
During the procedure, a small neuromodulation stimulator is implanted beneath the skin. This device sends controlled electrical impulses to the targeted area. The process is minimally invasive, and most patients can return home the same day. Many notice improvements within days of the procedure, but full benefits may take a few weeks to develop. Regular follow-ups ensure the device is working correctly and providing the expected relief.

- Minimally invasive procedure with quick recovery

Metro Spine Pain Centers Reviews
The staff is awesome here in Takoma Park, Md. I am already a patient here, but my sister is here now. She had lots of pain after surgery. She was having a difficult time. They helped her with forms everything not making her feel like a burden in the office. Dr Drakes, was step by step getting her necessary things she needs to help her alleviate the pain she is enduring. Always a blessing to me and my sister. Thank you to the Staff and Dr.Drakes.
If it weren’t for Dr. Drake’s treatments—ranging from RFAs, MBBs, and hip injections—I truly believe I wouldn’t have been able to maintain a successful career in the makeup industry for 11 years, until COVID. I suffer from severe back, hip, leg, and arm issues from Degenerative Disk Disease and Neuropathy from chemo due to having Breast Cancer. With his care, he has continued to assist me in maintaining some quality of life as I continue to manage chronic pain. The Pain will never completely go away, but the treatments I’ve received have brought it to a manageable level. I’m incredibly grateful to Dr. Drake and his staff for the exceptional care and support they’ve provided me over the past 15 years. In addition, I would like to thank Dr. Drake and his staff for their understanding and support. At times, they have served as my therapists, providing me with guidance and compassion during some of the most challenging moments of my life.Karen H
